We see the visionaries, healers, and shapers of our community

Announcing $2M in grants to 20 Black-led organizations

We are honored to announce our investment of $2 million in grants to 20 Black-led organizations, focusing on arts and education, in our third round of statewide funding. These “We See You” grants represent our commitment to investing in Black-led nonprofits that play an essential role in advancing self-determination, connecting communities, and promoting civic discourse.

This round of grants focuses on arts and education — both are foundational to creating a liberated future, yet are often the least resourced. We wanted to recognize leaders who are visionaries, historians, creators, and shapers of our culture and communities. Artists and educators are the heartbeat of Black communities going back generations. We celebrate you, we believe in you, and we see you!

Based on our founding premise that Black communities know best what they need, each organization will receive $100,000 in unrestricted funds spread over several years, as an acknowledgment of and support for their work. These grants are barrier free, intentionally breaking down obstacles to funds.

We believe in and trust the Black arts and education leaders whose wisdom and brilliance are vital to our thriving. Our commitment to supporting organizations that are by and for Black people strengthen not only our community, but society as a whole.

Thanks to the continued generosity of our supporters, we are nurturing culturally-relevant work that facilitates healing, dreaming, and building healthy communities for the generations to come.
